By now you must have measured the length of many things such as the length of paper, wire, table. Scientists, using various methods, measure the distance of distant galaxies, diameter of the earth etc.To measure the length of curved lines, thread can be used. When measuring larger distances (of a few metres) a tape measure is more appropriate or, when measuring even larger distances, a trundle wheel.
