Atomic nucleus is made up of two types of particles, protons and neutrons. The protons carry the positive charge of the nucleus, while the neutrons are neutral . Electrons, which is negatively charged revolve around the nucleus. Protons and neutrons have similar masses. Protons and neutrons are called nucleons.
